National History Day Internship

"National History Day in Ohio is an academic program (similar to Science Fair) in which students around Ohio do research on a historical topic and create projects. In Ohio we work with teachers in grades 4-12. You can find out more information on our website: www.ohiohistoryday.org .

We have a grant to work with Columbus area schools who are participating in the program. As part of the grant, we can hire 2 interns to help in the office at the Ohio Historical Society (800 E. 17th Ave. ) creating lesson plans and other materials to help students and teachers and assist with general tasks for the program. Another large part of the internship would be going out to schools to help  teachers and students as they research and create projects. We are looking for someone to start in mid-November and work with us through early May. Each intern will be paid $10 an hour up to 100. The intern we hire will have to have somewhat of an open schedule so that they can go visit schools. So ideally maybe one day open during the week without classes or one morning and one afternoon open each week to have room for school visits.

Those interested can visit our website and apply for the History Day Assistant position. http://www.ohiohistory.org/jobs/current-openings.
