Heartlands Earthworks Conservancy


"Heartland Earthworks Conservancy is a group of archaeologists, conservationists and other concerned citizens who volunteer their time to do what they can to preserve ancient earthworks in southern Ohio."

  • Advance the preservation and protection of Native American earthwork sites in the Hopewell Heartland.
  • Acquire real estate and conservation easements for the purpose of preserving ancient earthworks.
  • Manage earthworks to preserve their cultural, archaeological and natural integrity.
  • Educate the public about ancient earthworks, their importance and how to protect them.
  • Sponsor and conduct scientific surveys of earthworks.
  • Support and partner with other organizations with compatible missions.
