Chris Balusik, of the Chillicothe Gazette, has written an informative article about the Arc of Appalachia, National Park Service, and Rivers Unlimited's opportunity to purchase the Steel Earthworks which connects with the Junction Group Earthworks by an old railroad corridor with a Clean Ohio Grant (the application was due mid-March).

"Representatives from the Arc of Appalachia Preserve System, National Park Service and Rivers Unlimited appeared before Ross County Commissioners this week to ask for their endorsement on a Clean Ohio Grant application due in mid-March that would provide funds to purchase the Steel Earthworks. The opportunity to make the purchase came about in December when Arc of Appalachia was presented with the possibility to partner with The Archaeological Conservancy to acquire the 68-acre Steel Earthworks property.

Junction is located south of Belleview Road just east of the intersection with Plyley's Lane, while the Steel Earthworks are on the north side of Plyley's about a mile west of Junction on the banks of North Fork Creek."
