ProQuest & Legacy RefWorks

ProQuest RefWorks.

Have you ever wanted to be able to easily find and keep
 ALL of your references in one location? 

ProQuest RefWorks' Quick Cite.
Ever had to use a different citation style for a class? 

Want to keep your PDF sources in one location? 

Creating an OSU ProQuest RefWorks account will allow
 you to do all of this and more!



If you have a Legacy RefWorks account you can transition your account to a ProQuest RefWorks account or keep both accounts simultaneously.

  • After you find a reference you would like to use at The Ohio State University Libraries' catalog, check out the top bar for a button that says Export to RefWorks (See arrow in image above). 
    • You will need to be signed in to your RefWorks account in another tab for this to work.
  • Your Reference with all relevant bibliographic information will be added to your Last Imported Folder
    • This will only show your very last added reference, so if you are adding a series of references check your 'Not in Folder' Folder.
    • You can always add your reference to a specific folder for easier organization. 
    • Or if you have lost a source, try looking for it with the Search button.

Reference Databases like EBSCOHost

  • Direct Export to RefWorks (See image above for Export button).
    • You will need to be signed in to your RefWorks account in another tab for this to work.
  • Your Reference with all relevant bibliographic information will be added to your Last Imported Folder
    • This will only show your very last added reference, so if you are adding a series of references check your 'Not in Folder' Folder.
    • You can always add your reference to a specific folder for easier organization. 
    • Or if you have lost a source, try looking for it with the Search button.
  
  • While on a research database like EBSCOHost if you download a copy of the PDF Full Text, you can save it in your RefWorks Reference later as an attachment.
    • Be sure to check the database's Terms of Use before you download.
      • "...Licensee and Authorized Users agree to abide by the Copyright Act of 1976 as well as by any contractual restrictions, copyright restrictions, or other restrictions provided by publishers and specified in the Databases or Services. Pursuant to these terms and conditions, the Licensee and Authorized Users may download or print limited copies of citations, abstracts, full text or portions thereof, provided the information is used solely in accordance with copyright law. Licensee and Authorized Users may not publish the information....."
You can manually enter a reference as well, 
just click on the + Add button.
